On May 28, 1998, Pakistan successfully detonated nuclear devices in the Chagai hills of Balochistan. This monumental scientific achievement marked Pakistan as the seventh nuclear weapons state in the world and the first in the Islamic world, establishing a strategic balance of power in South Asia. The day is remembered as Youm-e-Takbeer.
