The Lodi Dynasty was unique as the first Afghan dynasty to rule the Delhi Sultanate, replacing the Turkic origin dynasties.
Bahlul Lodi and Sikandar Lodi restored much of the sultanate's prestige, but Ibrahim Lodi's arrogant handling of his nobles led to fatal betrayals.
Historical Significance
They shifted the power base somewhat to Agra and represented the last gasp of the Delhi Sultanate before the Mughal era.
